So before it played that infernal Maroon 5 song, my radio informed me that Nicki Hilton, feeling left out of the true and sunshiney love of The Blond, has decided that she needs a boybandboyfriend as well. Appparently people saw her talking to Mssr. Chasez at a restaurant in order to remedy this; she giggled and whispered suggestively into his ear, and then slipped him her number. Throw in Jesse or Carlos and a scene where Nicki talks to Nick for advice, and you got yourself a fanfic!

Incidentally, I find it a little creepy that Paris calls both her boyfriend and her sister "Nicky/i". *shudder*

So I was having lunch and watching the OC tape that I thought I'd lost (but which had in fact fallen to the side of the tv, forcing me to painstakingly extract it with barbecue tongs), when the pavement-cutters outside started up. Apparently, the city has decided that the tree-roots lacing under the paving in our complex have reached critical mass; perhaps the strange sailor's gait that people employ while walking along the roadway had something to do with that. Anyhow, they started doing work. Noisy, house-shaking work. And then I discovered that lip-reading Kirsten Cohen was surprisingly easy. For anybody who's ever wondered -- Seth is unintelligible unless he's talking to Summer, Anna is a complete write-off, Summer and Ryan vary wildly, Sandy is impossible, and Marissa should fall down a well and drown.

In OC-related news, fuskeez reports that Chris Carmack (that's Lurtz the bestest pink Uruk-Hai to you) will be on the timbertone team at CFTC. This fills me with a joy that only this picture can match.
