sixty-five tons of american pride
Aug. 31st, 2005 03:56 pmI am conflicted about the current gas crisis. On the one hand, I am exceedingly lazy and *love* driving my car; on the other hand, I can't help but feel glad that we Westerners are paying through the nose for our *huge* ecological footprint. On one hand, EXCEEDINGLY LAZY; on the other hand, environmental shifts from greenhouse gases threaten to sink my ancestral homeland. Le sigh. This will get even more frustrating next week when I start the fall term and have to pay for gas more often.
But! In semi-related news that's much more optimistic, I think I might write Hugo Chavez a love letter. And send a dictionary to Pat Robertson with the meanings of "assassinate" and "dictator" highlighted, because he clearly doesn't understand either.
More amusingly, a Buffy quiz linked by
breathe_again:
Rupert Giles
63% amorality, 36% passion, 54% spirituality, 72% selflessness
Utterly calm and resolute in the face of danger, utterly devoted to his
loved ones and comrades in arms, and utterly willing to do what is
necessary to ensure that good overcomes evil. Giles knows the score, he
knows that sometimes virtue relies on good men getting a little messy,
and he's willing to take that on himself, largely so that others don't
have to. You might share some of that.
THE 4-VARIABLE BUFFY PERSONALITY TEST
Hee! I think I can live with that.
