GOD DAMMIT WHY HAVE THE PRINCE OF TENNIS DVDs NOT ARRIVED YET
Lori ordered them a few weeks ago and they're still not here. Those blasted border guards are poking through them and trying to decide whether or not one-hundred and thirty-two episodes of anime boys playing tennis are considered "pornographic", I just know it. grrrrrrr.
In other news,
silvrsolace is coming over today and we are checking out a) a new Japanese department store and b) a new supermarket. Yes, these things actually excite me. A new supermarket!! Who knows what kind of delightful things await? The department store I'm still holding off on the excitement about, because it's in this local place called Aberdeen Mall which is kind of notorious for being unfriendly to you if you're not Chinese. But we figure, hey, we're ethnically Asian, we might pass. If not, there's always Yaohan (the Japanese mall) a couple of blocks from Aberdeen. mmmmmm, Japanese candy and manga.
Apart from Lance's new dino-nose, there's not much new going on in fandom, is there? Le sigh. But it gives me time to concentrate on rereading comic books. Right now I'm going through:
X-Tinction Agenda: much fun with Genosha and amnesia and ALEX, even though the art in the X-Factors makes me WEEP and it all culminates with the dreadful "his puppet, his chicken" line.
No Man's Land: much fun with Gotham in a practically post-apocalyptic state and a big mess of Bat-folks and villains; what I love most is that even when there's no actual heroes around, like in the Two-Face/Montoya ish, it's still fascinating.
X-Cutioner's Song: I know it wasn't popular, but I ADORE this arc. Especially all the Havok-Cannonball interaction. And I like Summerses, so the Cable bits are enjoyable too, and hell, I just think it's one of the best X-overs when it comes to having the teams intermingle and work together.
Also, I'm finding myself inordinately excited at the prospect of Prisoner of Azkaban, seeing as I'm not technically *in* HP fandom. Still. Once opening weekend and the fleets of horrible, horrible ankle-biters are gone, I'm so there.
