where people throw ducks at balloons and nothing's the way it seems

It occurs to me that some of my very favourite popslash stories, if tersely summarized, sound absolutely insane if not downright ridiculous. To wit:

- the boys go to Quebec, visit a bee museum, and learn stuff about Canada!

- the b'ys straggle into an unnamed frontier and learn how to live off the land and do laundry!

- two Justins in two different universes swap places! Hijinks ensue!

- JC is a mermaid and Joey fishes him up out of the ocean! And then wants to sleep with him!

- JC finds very mysterious crazy letters all about him and Chris in an alternate reality!

- Chris dates people who sometimes make Justin throw up, but that's a *good* thing!

- Justin dresses up as a dancing omelette and Lance has an ice-cream truck!

-- and that's just a few of them. The thing is, all of these stories are fabulous. I love that this fandom can write completely wacko things like Justin-as-Grace-Kelly or JC-as-a-geisha and somehow make them *work* so damned well.

Oh, and my stories don't sound any better. That one's about Kevin turning into a dog-eating zombie! This one's about Joey talking to a dildo! Good Lord. *g*
