bossymarmalade: blue eye with lashes of red flower petals (allah princess)
I watched sixteen minutes and twenty-two seconds of Waking Life and then had to turn it off because it reminded me of every pretentious idiot asshole I've ever spoken to. Ugh.

And speaking of bad reviews, [livejournal.com profile] zeldachilds has apparently seen that infamous cartercest movie, "Harry and Max", and has a full and spoilery review to share. I laughed so hard I nearly shattered.

Am fully intending to go to IKEA for their $1 breakfast tomorrow. What better way to celebrate the birth of my nation and its brand-new Liberal minority government? Whoo-hah!

Last night I caught a little bit of "The Jury"; really I only stopped because of the ex-Oztravaganza that was going on. Even Said and Schillinger fighting like old times didn't make me keep watching, though; it seems like all the female jurors have dialogue that practically screams, "I'm a woman! I'm a NURTURER! I don't think, I FEEL!!"

In closing, a fic rec -- not JC this time, but what the hell. Fighting Numb, by [livejournal.com profile] affluence; it's Nick and Paris and Justin, tangled together and messy and sweaty and dirty. Nick and Paris are the golden romanticized ones, and it's Justin's who's blurry and dissatisfied and almost embraces mean shallowness but can't escape what's deeper under that. I like when stories don't shy away from the harsher realities and the ugliness, but it's all sort of removed and detached, not so visceral. Oh, it's hard to explain. But it's a good story.
