hey, is that manna?
Apr. 26th, 2004 12:13 pmMan, I didn't know the human body could produce so much mucus.
And now that I've got that grossness out of the way, it's time for the ol' updatery. Basically, I've been sick; went to the clinic on Saturday and found that the flu has made one of my eardrums all pink and swollen, so now I'm on amoxicillin. I could've just said "antibiotics" there, but I love that word. I love saying it over and over. A-mox-i-cillin. It's like Victorian porn.
Been watching: Ghost Ship. I saw it before, but wanted to see it again. Because Ron Eldard! And Karl Urban! Being buddies in a movie on a haunted abandoned SHIP! It's like really au timbertrick. Also: Holes, which was surprisingly with the magical realism and pretty good, and also confirmed for me that the Jewfro (see also: Seth Cohen, see also: Gordo from "Lizzie McGuire") is here to stay. Also: Party Monster, which was basically Velvet Goldmine in the eighties and with less fabulous music. Also: Watched painstakingly cobbled-together tape of animated Batman episodes, made merciless fun of Bruce's old yellow-and-brown suit.
Been playing: Final Fantasy X. Funfun. Although, wtf is up with the FF games and their super-annoying, meant-to-be kawaii main girl characters? The one in this particular installment, Yuna, talks like this: "I...don't think...we can do...anything other...than...try our...*inane giggle*.........best." Thereby proving that insipid moron characters are not only to be found in prime time television. Will go back to playing Silent Hill 2 once I stop being a chickenshit.
Been writing: Robert Graves challenge. Strange pairing, but one
silvrsolace spent a lot of time and energy harassing me to write, so what the heck.
Been hearing: La Timberlake was up on the mountain over the weekend, singing with the BEP and giving out prizes for the snowboarding competitions, or something. Also,
sarahcascade says that one of her friends saw him getting "beat up" outside the Commodore a week ago for the mooovie. Also, been listening to that Nancy Sinatra bang-bang song from Kill Bill over and over; it's addictive.
Been eating: Krispy Kremes. They're much better fresh than the one previous time I had them, but man they're...I dunno. Dense? There's a soft sort of decadence to them that guarantees I won't be able to eat many of them, or often.
Been squeeing: over the third part of Descent and the prospective lineup for the film version of Sin City. Please, God -- you've already wreaked your wrath upon poor Constantine, just give me this. Please.
Been considering: Taking piano lessons again. I wasn't bad at it, back in Trinidad, but was always bad-tempered during lessons because they came at the end of a hard day of being drilled and ferruled at school and dinner was still a long drive home away.
In conclusion: thanks to wundermous
stargems for the icon. Wow, that was a long post. Things pile up, man. And now, I better go take some more a-mox-i-cillin. mmmmm.
