burn the house down. burn it all!
Mar. 17th, 2003 08:22 amI don't think I'm going to be following fandom_wank to its new location. I'm starting to feel like a groupie or something, and the vibe has changed so much...eh. Whichever.
Instead, here is the Joey rec of the day. It's not Irish, but it is by a Kelly, so I'm keeping with the theme! What? I am!!

It's a Joey pov and that's perfect, because we get to see all of the ways that Joey copes and the things he's been through, the things he thinks about that help him go well, this ain't so bad and keep his head above water even when the waves are threatening. It's his place in the band, even music-wise (which is pretty different), and there's a sense of soft desperation wound through the whole thing, how Joey seems to obsessively collect memories of his friends and experiences as though they can protect him when the inevitable loss does come. And it made me cry. Bad Kel! Bad!
I used strawberry body scrub in the shower this morning, then blueberry lotion, and now I'm wearing raspberry lip gloss. mmmm. I'm a fruit salad of synthetic joy.
in other news, my pointless experiment to see how long a grace period you actually get for your lj renewal has come to an end, and now I know. it's two weeks. that's pretty generous, man.

Lou set up a fitting the day before and the costuming woman held up a shiny bolt of blue satin fabric and both Chris and Jason said "No way am I wearing that," and you thought, hey, at least it's not the wolfman.
You think about wolfman a lot when things about the group sort of suck. You think about playing wolfman and how the fake hair on the costume stuck to your skin and your street clothes. You think about playing wolfman and you don't say anything so Jason leans across the table and says, "Anyway, it's guilt by association. We're gonna look queer just standing up there with the three of them."
