you remember the story of oedipus, don't you?
...and I have come down with the cold yet again. wtf?
At any rate, I had a marvelous time seeing
lisew,
pirateyes, and
throughadoor this weekend, what with the fun of midnight runs to Seattle, the staggering variety of American junk food, MuchMusic playing constant news about Miss Brit and Mister Cha-sez (you'd think Canadians could pronounce a French name), and best of all, a martini lunch. Being tipsy with people I adore is fun. Plus I may or may not have bought a Milky Way for the sole reason of finding out just how silky they are. (the conclusion? not very.)
Of course, this left little time for the lynncest stories for the sometimes i call my lady 'momma' challenge, but we prevailed. And here's mine:
my own personal creature
I'm pretty certain I stole the bit about Lynn-washing-panties-in-sink from somebody, possibly
imogennegomi, but I can't quite remember. If it was you, let me know and I'll stick that in the credits. *g*
EDIT: ahah, it was
throughadoor hesself I stole the panties from. It makes a beautiful kind of Only Two sense, in a way.

Loved every word of it, from start to finish. You incorporated the Challenge words so well and so evocatively, I love your Lynn in love with her beautiful creature, her fierce possesiveness of his brightness and body. I love all the supporting characters, from JC to Chris to the unnamed blonde woman -- and Britney's perfume between her thighs. That's fabulous.
"Justin, baby," Lynn says helplessly. She picks up the same perfectly-aligned stack of papers and thumps them again, once on each side. "You gotta just take it on trust. If a girl's with you, she wants to be there. All you have to do is listen to what she wants, pay attention to her, be considerate, and she'll be fine."
This, this is so perfect, I can't even say how perfect it is. The cadence, the actions, every word of squirm-inducing dialogue -- you've so captured the essence of Lynncest, the innapropriate mother/son relationship. What I love about this story is you keep the mother/son relationship to the fore, rather than making Lynn just Justin's best friend or lover; your emphasis on the small maternal acts are a triumph.
I'm just going to say !!!!1111!!!!! for emphasis.
Loved it!

Thank you SO much for saying that. I don't write Lynn a whole lot (although, I guess, more than I would if I didn't like lynncest so damn much), but her speaking patterns and rhythms are still kind of foreign to me. So I'm glad that she came off as ringing true.

ooooooh, yay! What a very cool thing for you to say. And, y'know -- I've written stories that were pretty much straight momma/babyboy porn, so I was trying to be a little less overt with this and still bring across their inappropriate love. So this sentence is wonderful to hear!
Thank you bushels and pecks for the marvelous, glow-inducing feedback, baby. You're awesome. *mwah*
