She IS proud! She released a statement about how it's "taken out of context" and she's just "making a goofy face". I just -- oh my god, Donna. So many little girls with Asian eyes have to deal with their idol making fun of their "goofy" faces. I can hardly stand to think of it.

What's the context? All we have is a picture, and I can't figure it out.
The context (according to Miley's blog) is that she and her friends were just "making goofy faces" and that people want to label her the next "bad girl" now that Britney's cleaned up.
Miley needs to get the lecture that my sixth grade teacher (who was, IIRC, married to a Vietnamese man) gave us after about half of us did bad "Chinese" accents during lit class once. I may have had my issues with that teacher, but I still remember how she was looking at us like she wanted to bitchslap us all.
