"you know what would be fun?" "no! why would i know a thing like that?"

Have recieved Valentines from [livejournal.com profile] robanybody (inside an even prettier card! You doll you), [livejournal.com profile] smartlikejustin (omg, it's like a little tryptich of mass production! Hee!), and a Lunar New Year's card from [livejournal.com profile] trumpeterofdoom (I enjoyed the story completely!) -- mucho thanks to all of you! I adore getting random mail. Thanks also to [livejournal.com profile] karabou, who sent the Summers brothers. So, so pretty! eeeee!

Now, [livejournal.com profile] jchalo kindly shipped me the bpal scent "De Sade", which is described as "the essence of pleasure heightened by pain: the raw scent of leather", along with strict instructions to post my feelings about it. Well, I don't know about the pleasure-pain principle, but I do know that I put some of it on the insides of my wrists and then spent the REST OF THE DAY trying to devise non-obtrusive ways to sniff at it. It has a clean, slightly bookish smell; goes on sharp, but mutes down into a delicious sort of smooth whiskey-and-wood that I adore, vaguely sweet under a smokier topnote. If you like the smell of pipe tobacco and leather-bound books, you'd probably like it. Thank you, sweetie!

And now,

1. Worn a pumpkin costume and danced to country-and-western music

2. Been suspended from high school for drinking on school property

3. Smoked grated nutmeg/dried banana peels/assorted teas

4. Kissed a nun (on the cheek, perverts!)

5. Attended a school that still employed corporal punishment

6. Visited a sewage treatment plant

7. Thrown thumb tacks out of a window at a teacher

8. Eaten fresh brown sugar and freshly burned sugar cane

9. Shaved a strip of skin off my knee

10. Jumped off a "pirate ship" into the Caribbean Sea

We had one teacher with a taste for breaking meter sticks over kids' backs

Mine liked to beat you with your OWN ruler, to add insult to injury. All it took was once with the heavy wooden type with the metal strip at the top before you came back to class with a thin plastic ruler; she broke tons of them on us, and then she'd go get her own wooden one. Le sigh!
