Watched a great quantity of MMC last night, thanks to

lance_nerd's tapes. I remember watching this thing when it was on television, man.

And what was the strongest impression I took away (apart from realizing anew just how long and freak-ass dull many of the popular songs in the early 90's were)?

JC was every boy I had a crush on in high school.

Dude, he's only about four months older than I am, so he fits the time period. And since getting into this fandom, I never found him to be particularly sexy, even with the pretty hair and pretty clothes and pretty smiles. But baby dorky JC with the swoopy hair and the stupid suspender pants? I'm in LOVE, yo. I may have stayed up to ridiculous hours of the night squeeing in a high-pitched tone at him singing "Runaway Train" in that idiotic stovepipe hat and then being all "shades! of! Bono!!" for "Mysterious Ways." Because, fuck. Highschool crush.

Now, back to work with me.
