still pimpin'
You must all go and read Tiffany's Nevada. Because it's harsh and poignant and sunburned and desperate, and the boys sing U2 and the Beatles and fuck each other and fuck with each other and by part 7 I was crying so hard that my eyes are still burning.
It's not the anatomy of a breakup--it's deeper and more scary. And I really, really love her characterizations. And here's where I started really bawling:
Justin makes a pile of sandwiches for lunch and leaves them all on a plate in the great room with a note that says "house mtg. 8 p.m." This whole thing was a stupid fucking idea but he's not going back to Johnny saying they never had a single real conversation about the future. He looks at his sad little note and goes back to the kitchen, gets a bag of Chips Ahoy cookies and sets it with the other food.
Because he's so scared of being alone and trying so hard. And, and, just read it. I have to go blow my nose and wash my face, y'all.

For the record, them breaking up but still staying friends would probably not be a good ending for me, unless they all move in together.
