one groom...*two* grooms...oh, my medication

...Lord, I am not cut out for romantic comedies. I just watched "Serendipity" and it ENRAGED me.

My dad, however, loved it. Typical.

I haven't been able to get through this movie, and I am a fan of romantic comedies. What is up with John Cusack choosing such crappy romantic comedies? This, Must Love Dogs, American Sweethearts - it's like he's testing our devotion to him! Say Anything can only carry you so far, Mr. Cusack!

Don't give up on the genre entirely! Have you seen Bridget Jones's Diary or, hmm, While You Were Sleeping? I'm not sure if Legally Blonde counts, but it's a favorite of mine. Those are my ultimate romantic comedy comfort flicks.

Oh, Lord. I tried multiple times to watch Bridget Jones and just *failed utterly*! I'm such a curmudgeon about these movies, I swear.

I did really like Out of Sight. Does that count?!?

Out of Sight! I love that movie. LOVE. It has romance, it has comedy (Steve Zahn is awesome), it has George Clooney at his dreamiest, but is it a romantic comedy? I worry that there may be too many righteous beatdowns.

I'm sorry you don't like BJD! I agree w/you about how casually romantic comedies sometimes treat collateral emotional damage.

The Lady Eve (featured in my icon) is my favorite old-school romantic comedy. And now I'll quit being evangelical about the romantic comedies!

I think I have The Lady Eve on my rental list! The old-skool romantic comedies don't irritate me half as much, I must say.

Out of Sight totally utterly counts in my book. And Cusack is fab in Grosse Point Blank - but yeah, don't bother after that (and flee in terror from Must Love Dogs). I obviously like my rom with action as well as com *g*

Decent rom-coms that don't involve the major characters trashing other people haven't really been big since 2000. At least I can't think of any that I enjoyed like I did While You Were Sleeping, The Matchmaker and Love and Other Catastrophes.

If loving While You Were Sleeping is wrong, I don't want to be right!
