one groom...*two* grooms...oh, my medication

...Lord, I am not cut out for romantic comedies. I just watched "Serendipity" and it ENRAGED me.

My dad, however, loved it. Typical.

What did you not like about it? I thought it was pretty decent...though cheesy as all romcoms are.

I think that's just the thing -- lots of romcoms follow a basic plot of "boy and girl meet and for some reason don't stick together, then they get engaged to other very nice people, then they LEAVE THOSE NICE PEOPLE AT THE ALTAR so they can have their selfish idealized love back". grrrrrrrrrr!

Yeah, it is pretty sucky for those abandoned at the altar, but the yay happily ever after for the main two kids is supposed to sooth away any angst for the others. But then you have to think like this (http://www.pbfcomics.com/archive/PBF027AD-Billy_the_Bunny.jpg).

If Farmer Ben had any sense, he'd've shot the rabbits and had a nice rabbit-and-carrot stew instead of shooing them off, yo.

Very true, but it doesn't make much of a children's book. *grin*

Dood! If I were writing a children's book, I'd probably concentrate on the fluffy bunnies my own self and not the desperate plight of starving agricultural families, heh.

Hahaha, yeah, not much cheer in that.

Yes! While I admit to definitely being in romantic comedy moods at times, that's always my complaint with them. I remember 'Sweet Home Alabama' especially, I really wanted her to pick the other guy at the end, even knowing that it wouldn't happen.

And they always make the 'other person' so *likeable*! How are we supposed to root for them to be heartbroken in the end?!?
