I think that's just the thing -- lots of romcoms follow a basic plot of "boy and girl meet and for some reason don't stick together, then they get engaged to other very nice people, then they LEAVE THOSE NICE PEOPLE AT THE ALTAR so they can have their selfish idealized love back". grrrrrrrrrr!
