We can't come in as the "all-knowing liberated western woman" who imparts the knowledge of freedom

hmmmmm, I read it as more of a suggestion of a cooperative effort than Westerners going in there to fix everything up. Maybe the author's pushing for us to be better informed and willing to help by getting others informed and involved? I'm certain there are ways to support feminism in developing nations that don't require us to hand down the law, as it were. *g*
