Y'all should take chootoy's poll. Because I want to see what songs to cover you guys would choose. Also because there's a slew of people who don't seem to like La Timberlake, and hey if you're reading my journal you probably do, so. Heh.

It's been nothing but blissful days of coldness and rain here for the past week or so; I am in heaven. I'm thinking of digging out a toque. You have no idea how happy this makes me.

Also, I hope that one day, somebody issues a challenge that goes like this: Here are a bunch of episodes of Buffy/Angel, along with plot synopses. Choose one and rewrite it into a popslash story; feel free to use dialogue straight from the episode but do NOT use any Whedon characters.

Or this: Here is a deck of Scapini tarot cards, along with information of what each card means. Choose one and rewrite it into a comicfic story; feel free to make it AU if you like but do NOT actually mention anything to do with the tarot.

Alternately, I could just do it myself. Er, write the fics, that is; I am absolute crap at running challenges and stuff like that.

And now, to continue burning VCDs of downloaded episodes of The Real Ghostbusters.

And we're *totally* been inundated with challenges, which is one reason I wouldn't run any. But I'm kind of bored with the "choose a song lyric/poem stanza/etc" school of challenges, I guess.

hmmm...part of me wants to, but mostly I'm all 'COMICFIC COMICFIC COMICFIC!!!' Maybe we could after the comicfic, or maybe foist it off onto someone else?

And, c'mon! I bet there would be pictures in Justin's book, and maybe a story about losing his virginity to Chris, and how he'd set up candles and rose petals because it was supposed to be SPECIAL, and Chris heckled him for it and Justin almost cried but then Chris felt bad and leaned over to tell Justin that it was all very nice and romantic but he ended up knocking the candles over and the satin sheets caught on fire and the fire company had to come and Justin and Chris were out on the lawn wrapped in sheets trying to explain what had happened in a way that wouldn't land Chris in jail and how Chris and Justin didn't actually end up having sex until two weeks later in the back of Chris's car, which wasn't all that romantic, but Justin wasn't about to complain about it.

Well, since we've got the tarot one covered, how would you like to run the Buffy one? I'm admittedly a fresh-faced n00b when it comes to the Buffyverse, so I'm not the best person for the job in any case!

I've watched every episode of Buffy, some multiple times, but that's a lot different than being a Fan. What would it entail?

I don't even *know*. As I envisioned it, the person running the challenge would be able to provide links to some site that has episode synopses available; maybe also places that have the scripts (if possible) and places that have bittorrents for download? I'm sure that most people who'd sign up for something like this would have more than a passing familiarity with the show and have their own favourite eps on tape or whatever, but options for more casual viewers would probably be good.

Of course, that's not strictly necessary to have. And maybe it's better to *not* offer a lot of options, because I find that the more options you give people, the more rules they want to break.

At the very least, they'd be forbidden to use Whedon characters and from recreating the episode scene-for-scene and line-for-line. If you decide to run the challenge, though, you could easily adapt it to whatever *you'd* like to see in a challenge; this is just what *I'd* want to see. *g*
