we're sending our love down the well
Watching television with the parents can be interesting sometimes. If it's not Biblical dramas acted by Middle Eastern people, subtitled in English and dubbed in Hindi, it's informational programs on How Things Are Made. With different segments on different products, which results in:
DAD: i designed pipes for paper mills JUST LIKE THAT <3<3<3
MOM: look at that SWEET BUTTONHOLE ACTION on those jeans!!
ME: OMG such pretty jewel colours on that candy OMG
And then they showed computers, and everybody lost interest, and I watched Much More Music instead, and they were showing Videos With A Conscience. First up was "Sun City" by Artists Against Apartheid, so I spent most of it giggling at Bono and his overemoting and his funny hairstyle. Then it was "Give Peace A Chance" and although dear Cyndi Lauper and Tom Petty were in it, I was mostly just staring adoringly at Sean Lennon and thinking, "Sean Lennon:John Lennon = Harry Potter:James Potter". And then I cursed all you HP people, because that's just good fun. And then the video "Tears are Not Enough" by the Northern Lights came on, and while I laughed at Anne Murray's orange pantsuit I thought fondly of how much mockery
chootoy and I have directed at this video over the years. It has Corey Hart and Geddy Lee! And Joni Mitchell doing an interpretive DANCE!! Whoo hoo!!

twofisted. Yes, that's right -- it's along the same lines as
valiumbitch and
ride_it, but will be nowhere near as clever or prolific because I am LAZY. And unoriginal. Hah! Many thanks to Capp for letting me play in her universe. *g*

And I LOVE shows about How Things Are Made, especially if they feature automated assembly lines. mmmmmmmm, assembly lines. So soothing to watch things go flying by!
