I wake up this morning and discover two things: darling beth666ann has written dear kaelie a delicious, sweet-tart birthday story called The Anxiety of Influence, and my preciousss cathybites has sent me Apollo's and Starbuck's engagement photo. Both of which make my day that much brighter!

This evening, the sister and I plan to jaunt out to the Richmond Chinese Night Market to graze, which means freshly steamed siu mai on a stick, little bowls of buttery corn and white rice noodles, rolled-up hoisin beef pancakes, exotic fruit slushes, and portable crepes with fruit and ice cream. All for cheap! Maybe I'll get some squid, too -- they had it last time and all those curly pale purple tentacles looked so good.

It really is sweet-tart -- which is fabulous, because while you generally write things that are sweeter than I tend towards, you always add a little slice of lemon to make it more interesting, and never in a predictable way. I really appreciate that about your writing, because it's *way* more fun to see JC nudge Justin a little off-balance without making a Big Plot-Point Thing out of it. Hee!

When Cathy stayed over last Christmas, all we did was laze about drunkenly and watch Battlestar Galactica and Space Ghost. It changed my life, man!

It *did* look good! But I didn't buy any. I was distracted by everything else. However, the market's there until September, so there's always time to remedy that! mmmmmm, tentacles. *g*
