only two of those members have special rings

I have this ring that's kind of a good-luck charm, this big crazy diamond-faceted red-glass-jewel mounted-in-steel ring, and I love it so much because it looks juicy and cherry-flavoured and I've been wearing it since high school and it's not a ring that would look good on just anybody, and just now the stone fell out and skittered along the floor and because I'm really a little more neurotic than I like to admit I snatched it up, crammed it back into the setting, and desperate to counteract the bad-omen-ness of it all, started gnawing the steel back into place.

It's in my pocket now, because if I have it sitting on my desk I'll start fiddling with it again. And my teeth hurt.

The *only* reason I was never able to do this to my mother's gorgeous pearl ring (that I stole from her because itwassopretty) when the pearl fell out was because it was made of rock-hard metal, and trying to gnaw it back into place would've broken my teeth. I did, however, Krazy Glue that sucker back into place. Soon after, our house got robbed and all my mom's jewelry was stolen.

So, you see, it's a good thing you did what you did to counteract the bad omens.

Excellent! It is good to know (although sorry to hear about the robbery, poodle) that my actions were not completely demented and did in fact serve a purpose. *g*
