cliokat mentioned O-Town being an exercise in marketing, which made me think of Canada's own answer to the Ugly Rats--B4-4. For those of you who are blissfully ignorant, these are three fellows--two twins and their cousin, or something--who were promoted purely through a well-strategized web campaign. Teenies galore and MuchMusic took the bait, and therefore the Canadian viewing public was subjected to video after video of these squealing fools with their dead rolling eyes like the devil's concubines.

And then...while I was searching for a picture which would demonstrate the pure horror and retch-inducing nasty that is B4-4...I found this.

I may just die.

I'm with Squickgirrl - I think the one in the middle is wearing a rug: by the looks of it, one left behind at a Star Trek convention. And what's up with the fake tans? They make JC look deathly pale and they're Canadian?. The darkhaired one also has a stupendously hideous eyebrow wax job. ::shudder::

I was exposed to too much of them too quickly to be able to comprehend. Plus, their squealy voices would have creeped me out even if their eyes hadn't.

Then again, I felt roughly the same way about *nsync, once upon a time.... ^_~

ARG! I have forgotten all about these moronic-slightly-human-look-alike-creatures. Why must you make my day worse? Why, I ask you. Perhaps, they were some genetic experiment gone very wrong, and JC was there out of pity. He is very nice. Hmmm. Or maybe they have blinded him with their unearthly ugliness, and that is why he is wearing sunglasses and looks more confused than usual.
