I had to go back 360 posts, y'all. And then when I was done and refreshed the page, there were 20 new posts. *cries* Oh, well. It's my own fault for friending everybody and not using filters.

It's Justin month, which is great. I haven't decided if I'm doing recs, or what theme I'll use if I do. It looks like most people are doing picture posts, so maybe fic recs is the way to go? Anyway, thinking out loud here.

Also, I've realized that one of the big reasons I'm feeling so blah about writing is because I haven't been reading fic as often as I like to. It feels like forever since I've sent anybody feedback. That sucks, and it's gonna be the first thing amended when I get a new computer.

Reading more fic makes me write better, too. I get all insular and crappy if I don't take in new ideas and get new concepts sparked by other people's writing, man.

Sometimes I wonder if I'd write better in a hermetic environment--if I'd come up with better, more original ideas and pursue them more fearlessly if I wasn't trying to imitate BNFs or please fellow fans. Then I go back and read my first story in popslash, written before I'd taken in much, and realize it's the purplest, schmoopiest, most cliche-ridden story ever. Bye-bye, theory. :)

And you send such great feedback, man. I think authors should just pay to have you read so you can feedback the ones you like and stuff. If that made any sense.

Dude, for real. I was just complaining to k8 yesterday that there's nothing new to read. No one's writing. And then, I suppose what little is out there you can't read with your sad broken computer. Poor dear. But, yes, I think I'd feel more like writing if there was stuff to read. It's sad and tragical.

Also, I think I neglected to comment before that I love love love love love love the icon. I had the same thought when I saw the pic. He's so Frank. And you know, that story might still turn up someday. Really.

I'm stuck in the whole not-reading, not-writing cycle of doom myself, and wow, does it suck. But I'm doing recs this month, which has meant revisiting a few of my old favorites and seeking out some new ones, so maybe that'll kickstart ye olde muse again. Who knows?

And hey, I'd buy you a shiny new computer if it meant new Maggie-fic and Maggie-feedback. Because dude, no one gives feedback like you, and it's no secret that I adore your writing. *snugs*
