bossymarmalade: blue eye with lashes of red flower petals (justin)

do they have krusty partially gelatinated non-dairy gum-based beverages?

I wish it would rain. That's one of the reasons I've always loved living here -- it's been something like ten years since our water reservoirs dipped down to DON'T WATER YOUR FLOWERS!! level. Meh.

Anyhow! There are interesting things on the ol' friendslist today. *nsync haiku from [livejournal.com profile] strandia, assorted Tims from [livejournal.com profile] glockgal, and an article on Justin's McDonald's deal from [livejournal.com profile] liz_w.

My favourite part of the article is the suits' dithering over Justin's popularity quotient. "Mr. Timberlake's participation could be polarizing," worry the suits. To which I give a big ol' Nelson Muntz HAH-ha! Because, really, I'm sure that millions of Americans will see their hated boybander shilling burgers and suddenly up and decide they can no longer stomach their Big Macs, right? Ffff. McDonald's could show Justin prancing down the street dressed as the damn clown and reiterating that he actually prefers Wendy's, and people would still keep buying food there, for heaven's sake.

Incidentally, American McDonald's tastes different from Canadian McDonald's. Just thought you'd like to know. *g*

I [heart] Navia beyond all reason.

Which tastes better - Canadian or American? I've had one of the ones up here make me sick on their breakfast bagels [repeatedly - I would use it to get me out of class, because I felt bad if I wasn't genuinely sick to skip] . . . that aside, I'm not much of a fan.

Amen to the breakfasts being better than the other fare!

I'm inclined to say that the American versions taste better, but that only holds true for breakfast items. Because we don't get biscuits up here, man. It's a neverending point of bitterness in my life.

Really, they're both kind of equal in their friedness.

And the European ones taste completely different yet! As far as I can tell, one of their policies is to use native products, which means local meat. And if I remember correctly there's this major difference between American and European beef where one country castrates their animals and then pumps them full of hormones and the other doesn't. As a result, the meat tastes completely different (you do not want to eat a burger or a steak anywhere in Germany, for example, unless the meat is imported--mostly Argentinia). (and I can't believe some of the inane things I know and feel the need to share *g*)

Heh! Yes, the local McD's here stress that they use 100% Canadian beef. Which is pretty good -- or at least, it would be if I didn't object to McDonalds' in general. Plus, their fries are really lardy and pasty when they're cold. *shudder*

No steak in Germany -- gotcha. I like knowing things like that, so thank you! *g*

I heart you, too, so that works out.

My favorite McDonald's are Indian McDonald's. They use mutton and chicken instead of beef and pork. The Big Mac is the Maharaja Mac, and they've got a McAloo Tikki Burger. You do not get much cooler than that. Also, I normally don't care for veggie burgers (and I've tried "a lot"), but McDonald's veggie burger is sooo good. They've got the old-school apple pies there, too, the fried kind that they've replaced with baked in the U.S. Yum.

This *so* sounds like the setup for a Pulp Fiction parody.

That sounds absolutely wonderful and someday I hope I can try them. A McAloo Tikki Burger! What would you eat with that? I mean, there's no point having fries with it, is there? do they serve roti or chapati or something?

Fried apple pies = heaven.

You eat it alone, like a regular burger, but they do have fries. You can see a pic of it here (http://www.mcdonalds.com/countries/india/index.html). It seems they now have something called a "Paneer Salsa Wrap." I want to try!

JC looks just like his wax figure in that pic. It freaks me out.

I *know*! I love the big version of that photo, but this icon-sized one looks a little doll-like, yes. Pretty doll, though. mmm...

Your mind works in the most awesome of ways. A MEAT axe! I'm going into paroxysms of glee just thinking about it!

Tee! I will file it away for potential future fics, because I really do like the premise. ^_^

Y'know, I had heard a rumour about the McDonald's deal a couple of months ago and had dismissed it, thinking that Justin had moved beyond such things. I guess I'm wrong. oooh! They should have Timberlake Happy Meal toys!

[identity profile] bossymarmalade.livejournal.com 2003-08-29 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
If they had Timberlake Toys, it would make my fucking YEAR. They should have the Assorted Variety Packs, like Beth and I dreamed up, and they should come with bling and sneakers. mmmmm, bling.

"A Night Full of Surprises." And it's deathfic. Is that not the funniest thing ever?! Death, the biggest surprise of them all.
