Also, I adore the Igby Goes Down official site in a way bordering on insanity. But, I mean -- each character profile comes complete with a recipe card!! !!!! That's the most wonderful thing I've ever seen (barring that first link, of course).

In other news, I continue my streak of falling for shows when they're drawing to a close by becoming immersed in Oz, thanks to lance_nerd lending her tapes. Considering my insane rage and hatred for Lee Tergeson's character in Homicide, I'm quite liking Beecher and have realized that it's just Chris Thormann I didn't like. However, in Oz I really hated that guard whose eyes Alvarez stabbed out. If there's one thing that Fontana has taught me, it's that blind characters are stupid and tedious. Yaaaay!

Oz?! How the sparkly hath fallen. ;-) If you can in fact stomach Beecher, I highly recommend Gemma Files's stories--she writes Beecher/Schillinger. Consensual Beecher/Schillinger. And makes it completely believable. And makes Schillinger into a human being without ever apologizing for or rationalizing away his loathsome views and actions.

I was mostly worried about the Beecher hump, but after a moment of vicarious glee when Schillinger was branding his ass (http://schism.tktv.net/stories/outbriefbirthdaycandle.html), I actually quite liked him.

The Wee Sister, who only remembers J.K. Simmons from H:LotS, absolutely loves the complexity of the character but has nightmares about him, poor thing. *g* I'll go rustle up Gemma's fic, and thanks for the rec!

Oz! Mmmmmm... I spent the entire spring devouring the series whole. So good. And yes, Fontana clearly had some bad experience with the blind at some point.

Er, yes. Thormann was ruthlessly excised from my Homicide experience, as was Gee Jr. (as much as possible). I may also have cut some "touching" Billie Lou moments, or that could be the bile talking.

But, Oz! I'm having such fun watching it and going, hey, she gave Tim that leather jacket after the Frandina murder! or hey, that guy [heart]s wood! *g*

Yes, the show is full of Homicide actors. And then, after I finished watching the series, man, now I'm always seeing people and saying "he was on Oz." Those Fontana-approved actors, they pop up all over the place.

And I think Thormann, Gee Jr. and Billie Lou all deserve each other. The tape of things not on your tapes isn't one I'd want to watch.

Man, something about that picture is like an optical allusion. It's like...okay. You've got the small stripey puppet in the foreground, huuuge Chris (wearing the largest pants ever, apparently) in the middleground, and then this mysterious half-sized figure waltzing around in the back. It just doesn't add up space-wise or something. Uh...unless that's a poster he's kneeling in front of. Oh well. It's definitely cute whatever's going on.
