i've been safari'ing since before you were born
I'm confused. Is "James" a girl, or is it trannie Lance? Either way, I would laugh at this story, except that JC is apparently a Rastafarian because he loves Ja. You go, baby. I and I been in Babylon too long.
Also, I was cleaning out folders yesterday and found some TrickC thing I'd apparently written to
chootoy when work was slow and we'd fic at each other. It and today's picture, not a rare one but adorable nontheless, are behind

"Don't bite at it," Chris ordered. JC blinked up at him, finger frozen in his mouth. "Don't," Chris repeated, raising one hand in a threatening fashion.
"Hurts otherwise," JC mumbled, letting the finger slide from his teeth and grimacing at the shiny, slick flicker of flesh that spiked pain once the air hit. "I hate hangnails."
Grabbing the finger, Chris turned it from side to side, squinting in consternation. "It's not really a hangnail, is it?" he remarked. "There's nothing naily about it. It's more like, a hang-cuticle or something."
"Whatever," JC said shortly. "It stings."
Chris hmmmed for a moment, then snapped his fingers. JC didn't think anybody actually did that, aside from Justin. "I know just what'll work, better than your stupid teeth," Chris announced, and dived into the nearby junk drawers. When he came up brandishing a razor blade, JC balked.
"No way, man." JC waved his hands in what he hoped was a clearly negating manner. You could never tell whether or not Chris would get the picture. "You are NOT coming near me wielding that thing."
"Don't be such a fucking baby, Jayce. Take your medicine like a man!" Chris bent the thin blade back and forth with his thumb and JC winced, practically feeling the sharp edge scrape through all the grooves in Chris' fingerprint.
Taking a deep breath, JC finally stuck his hand out, looking away. "Do it fast," he pleaded, and caught a flash of Chris' sharp white teeth before he shut his eyes.
"Trust me," Chris said, taking JC's hand, fingers slipping slightly on the warm wetness that was still there. He smoothed his fingertips along the wounded digit a couple of times, feeling the knobs of knuckle and the blood pulsing, and then bent his head, razor blade clutched tightly.
"Is it--" JC began, just as Chris said, "There, done."
JC took his finger back gingerly and examined it, finding nothing around his fingernail except a tiny groove and a bit of redness where the strip of skin had been. "Nice," he said, pleased and startled.
"Mmmm-hmm." Chris sounded muffled, and when JC looked up, he was chewing at one fingertip.

And you actually make me want to read that story...

And I couldn't read the story, after all. I looked at it once and ran.

Didn't get far enough, because, can I say: I have never, never met a 27 year old who actually felt old? Maybe it's different in the entertainment industry, I don't know. Anyhow, it pretty much stopped me at the first line...
Also, nice little snippet there--I liked it muchly...

Glad you liked the wee snippet, and thanks for letting me know! Also, I love your icon. It's Ozma, right? That's a series of books I always meant to read and just ended up wathing the movies instead....

The Oz books are cool, if not particularly deep. If the Narnia books and Madeleine L'Engle are 10s and Richie Rich comics are 1s, the Oz books are probably 3s? But for that very reason, they're pretty fast reads, and if you get the versions with John R. Neill's drawings, the art nouveau thing is sooo gorgeous.
Ooops. My multi-tasking-lack-of-attention has finally driven off the dude I was playing online backgammon with. *grin*

I have a strange fascination with that, um, story. It's so bad. And yet...I'm going to go read what you linked. I can't stop myself. Mommy?
