My reaction to learning that Lance plans to pull a Cruel Intentions on The Great Gatsby would be similar to the one I had upon watching the evening wear segment on Miss Dog America last night, only I don't know chootoy's new work number so calling her up and screaming like Homer suffering from night terrors is out of the question.

Instead, I will look at the pretty picture of Scott and Jean as drawn by the Wee Sister, which now resides on my office wall in the company of Helena ravishing Dick, Ororo watering her plants, and Constantine telling me to piss off while Chas loiters nervously in the background. Mmmmm. Must raid more of her Batclan-drawings when I go home this evening.

Work was busy in that stupid way where you're constantly answering the phone or e-mails and yet feel like you've accomplished nothing. I think this is a sign that I should knock off early.

All this X-Men craziness has given me the impetus to fix some of the shoddy grammar and horrible phoenetic dialogue of my old comicfic, which I've been putting off for ages.

Was horrified in particular to find an enormous chunk of Jono Starsmore prattling on like a right idjit about Paige "holding his heart in her hands" or some such tripe, which was quickly amended to insinuate oral sex. ahhhh, much better. *g*

The Batfic is pretty good, as are the Alex-in-Genosha story and the Angelo/Paige, but they're recent and that's why. Although--I did find the previously-mentioned 24-page vampire epic of my misspent teenage years under my bed yesterday, and was mortified to find that it sounded practically the same as I write now, except with more flowery and romantical language. And the places where I dived straight into Anne Rice ripoffery. Reading it was like self-flagellation. I would've been one of those goth losers on Buffy who wanted to be made into a vampire. So sad!
