Karma continued apace in small increments over the weekend, as I was able to finally rent Donnie Darko (have I ever mentioned that every time I see Jena Malone in a movie, I'm inexplicably reminded of libertyginger?), and KFC fucked up a delivery order and amended it by not charging us. Which meant chootoy and glockgal and I spent Sunday screeching, "free chicken!!" at various intervals during the evening. Hey, it was exciting to us!

Also, my mother made tomatoes and smoked herring and fried roti yesterday morning. I haven't had that in years and years; for very selfish reasons, I'm glad my parents aren't moving back to Trinidad. This isn't Toronto, and there's nowhere I could buy doubles or pelau if I get the craving.

I introduced silvrsolace to peanut punch and was surprised to find that she liked it. Peanut punch, to those of you who haven't been exposed to a lot of Caribbean food, is -- well, exactly what it sounds like. It's sort of a peanut-butter-and-milk drink. I didn't think anybody who hadn't grown up on the stuff would like it, except maybe paintedmaypole.

But! Enough food babblage, especially Trinidadian food which most of you will have no point of reference for. Instead, let's all take a look at the picture for the day, because it's one I'd never seen before, and if anybody does pairing squees I swear I'll delete them. Don't test me, bitches!
