we no can dunk, but good fundamentals--that more fun to watch anyway
My sister's Quidditch!George confuses me. Why does there need to be a little circle attached to his broom for you to wear him like a ring in order to make him fly? My Starburst She-Ra, Princess of Power didn't have any ring connected to her thighs, and she flew just fine with me holding her. Wait, does She-Ra even fly? That just fucked up my whole argument.
But anyway, I found a crate in my kitchen yesterday morning that was proudly labeled "JC's Finest Mangoes", and that warmed my heart. JC cares enough to send the very best! They looked lovely, too --blush red by the stems, firm and shapely and fragrant. mmmmm.
The entire building where the fire was is just gone. The two buildings bookending it had adjoining walls made of brick, which is good -- these are hundred year-old buildings and it would've been awful to lose more than one. And thank you to everybody who cossetted me last week; you made me feel much better.
In other news, I watched some of that "New TNN" for men. I watched the countdown of the "100 Most Irresistible Women", some of which I agreed with, some of which sucked (Halle Berry was #1? Are all American men comatose? She couldn't be more boring if she were composed entirely of polyfilla and white glue), but the real drawing point of the show for me was the host. Ice-T. He's come a long, sad way from being a mutated kangaroo-creature in Tank Girl, let me tell you-- all bloated and pale and seemingly confused, with random bursts of belligerence.
Also, I keep wanting to say "that does not fempute!" to my co-workers, but I'm afraid they don't know either Futurama or the opus of Bea Arthur well enough to get the reference, and then they'll just stare at me as if I'm crazy. And when it comes down to it -- aren't we all a little bit crazy? I know I am.
Okay. Enough Groening quotes. Back to the grind-ola -- although Bobby Darin makes it all tolerable. And look at my pretty icon from
ciderpress! She's the brickiest.

A She-Ra book! That's wonderful. I wish I still had my Knight Rider book, yo.

I can't believe I remembered that. [runs away]

But lookwhat I found while there: http://www.arcadeperfect.com/hosted/ptu/shera.html

When childhood books are fucked with. :g:
http://www.nodecaf.net/Marisa/pop/sheramain.html - all the dolls and shite that came out. Mind the bright blue text on black background. (ow.)

Spirit was she-ra's "human" horse. When she was just a plain princess. And Swift Wind was when he (she?) it went all pegasus-y when she-ra appeared.
God. I am so lame.

And thank you a million times over for linking to that review of the She-Ra book, man. That was fucking priceless. Bow constantly jerking off! aaaaahhahaha!!
Good times. *wipes tear*

really, who in that universe was straight? i mean, Bow had that heart motif going on on his armour, didn't he?
i used to have one of those She-Ra story books. and my chief pride-and-joy toy when i was growing up was Skeletor's castle. and Skeletor. and He-Man. they made out a lot. oops, may have said one too many sentences there.

Dude! Me too. With the Skeletor and He-man toys. Mine were handed down from my male cousins, so they were much loved toys. And of course no one was straight. Hell, She-Ra had that whole crush on He-man because they didn't realise they were really twins! just on different planets. But they found out and she went for the girl side of the force. She is such an uber-dyke and Glimmer was so femmy. Bet Bow used to try spy on 'em together. :g:
(god, my childhood is so warped.)

And my sister and I still have all our She-Ra books and comics and magazines...somewhere. hrmm.

Toys are fun. I recently got a pink sparkly octopus from McDonald's that has two water-sensitive touchplates on the bottom; if you float the octopus in water, it lights up red! Or if you touch the sensors with your tongue! And it fills with water, and you can squirt people and it lights up red AT THE SAME TIME! It's the coolest thing ever!

And your LJ name. :)
The best thing I ever got with food was the For the Fans video from Burger King, though I didn't know it at the time and came this close to throwing it out in the three unsparkly years that I had it.
I also got X-Men comics. Not toys, but still good!
I'm jealous of your water-spitting light-up octopus, though.

The pink sparkly water-spitting light-up octopus does kick backstreet ass, though, much as I love them. I mean, my Howie figurine spins inexplicably up and down a pole! What does that even signify?
...don't answer that. *g*

But thank you so much for linking, bec. all this while I've been terrified thinking that TNN was the one that showed Law and Order (and do MEN like L&O? what if they don't? would it be gone forever?) but it seems, thank god, that it's not: it's TNT, which has, I am happy to report, not yet aligned itself with a specific gender.

I would hazard a guess that men like L&O, since CSI makes an appearance on TNN's new lineup. They also like the A-Team. I did too, but I was eleven at the time and found the storylines challenging. *g*

But but. She has a fabulous body and face, and men don't factor in personality for irresistibility. Just look at the Britney Spears phenomenon.
My #1 is Jennifer Lopez. ::sigh::
Re:
She has a fabulous body and face
She does, but in such a boring way! Like that Cindy Marguiles woman or whatever her name is. I've seen her dozens of times and still can't picture her, she's so generic.
Ah, well -- you're right to remind me that men don't bother with such things as "interesting". But I'm still bitter that Jennifer wasn't #1. *g*

Did you see the pics of Jennifer in Esquire (http://www.livejournal.com/users/sugarhigh9104/387791.html)? Rawr.
Re:
Oh my Lord -- she's a pinup girl! And not a crappy cheap one like Cindy Whatserhead! Those are absolutely fantastic. If I liked girls that way, i would stalk her.
