So. A year ago today, the Wee Sister and I were in Baltimore, being brainwashed. Squick and Glassapple showed us footage and videos and merchandise galore, and I stayed up all night every night reading fic by

apetslife and

allen_sama and

rhyssj and

cherry_lips and

alestar and probably more people whose names I'm forgetting.

And by the time we came back home, I was working out a bunny for a silly sappy pointless JoeC fic and discovered that

chootoy had liked the SDBs all along, alone and in shame, quietly, to herself. In November, I relented and got this journal. And it's been a wonderful, exciting, sparkly ride since then.

But, yes! Chris's birthday is the anniversary of my sweet, sweet ass being in the *nsync fandom. Which is good, because it's an easy way to remember. Even if I did swear that no matter how much I succumbed to the others, I would never ever ever like Chris. Since then, I've learned the valuable lesson of shutting the fuck up, because I obviously have no idea what I'm talking about and don't want to rail against something and then end up loving it and looking like some backpedalling hypocrite.

Thanks, guys, for being a huge part of what makes this fandom so much damn fun (and also, to my otherfandom friends for putting up with the endless yapping about sparklies). After all, what good is a squee if there's nobody to do it with?

It's nice to have a date you can firmly remember - I can't recall the date I succumbed, except it was several weeks/monthes bfore I got LJ. I've enjoyed having you here with me in good-natured taunting of Vali, as well as the continuation of the Schism acquaintance.
