Okay, first of all, HOT. Incredibly, gorgeously, stunningly hot with Sulu just taking and Chekov begging for it and seducing Sulu with it and I have lost most of my ability to form words after this story.
But also, you do such delightful things with language. Phrases like "quarrels of heat" and all those rich, vivid descriptions of the alien plantlife (the description of the blue disco flowers that reminded Sulu of Kirk had me giggling hysterically) that made me think of candy and jewlery, those are such wonderful things and you always write them so perfectly. I also adored Chekov's enthusiastic burbling over the biology of the alien plants, even when Sulu was under its influence, and I am so pleased by your Kirk: firm, understanding, quietly pleased by the fact that Sulu wants to take responsibility for his actions, and still enough of a still-new captain to be fairly informal with his men.
