Actually, that's not true. The Japanese internment was part of grade 9 history when I took it more than 20 years ago (just after the major curriculum change that got rid of grade 13 in Ontario and introduced OAC courses). It could be that the current curriculum in BC is lacking.

I also got a rather thorough coverage of the Métis rebellion in grade 8... with a positive view of Louis Reil. This focus could have been because my hometown was close to Manitoba.
