ra has rewarded my cruelty to the slaves
. snow white and rose red [what katy did]: as full of flowery, sweet-natured superlatives as the books, but with a sadder secret that lends a complicated depth.
. lady sings the blues so well [brick]: post-movie wrap-up, except not because things keep ticking along in the most unusual (and yet, completely believable) manner. The hardboiled tone of the movie comes through wonderfully, too.
. rubicon [rome]: Lucius Vorenus in Egypt, resigned to what fate has damned him to but not entirely without the warmth of his memories. Melancholy, but only in the most excellent and evocative context of the series itself.
. a dish best served cold [gosford park]: oh, *yum*. Slinky, sparky, and sexy encounters among some of my favourites of the below-stairs set: George, Robert, Mary, Henry. Totally and unabashedly hot.
. a fucking conversation about whatever [little miss sunshine]: a nice little motel-room conversation between Dwayne and Frank, figuring things out.
. all your cares beguile [the stand]: Nick and Larry late one evening, and, y'know, I would never have considered. But that's the point of well-written fic, innit? *g*
